Nepal gears up for Earth Hour 2020
“Over the last decade, Earth Hour in Nepal has emerged as a known platform for urban youth to converge, learn about sustainability and practice it through tangible starting points to address nature loss and reverse environmental decline” said Dr. Ghana S. Gurung, Country Representative, WWF Nepal.
2020, marked as the super year for environmental action, presents an unmissable opportunity for Nepal's public to be engaged with the world's largest grassroots movement for the environment. This year's Earth Hour Nepal will focus on amplifying Nepal's Voice for the Planet at the global environmental stage, and presenting it to world leaders as governments across the world set new global targets on nature.
In light of the COVID - 19 (coronavirus) outbreak, Earth Hour Nepal 2020 will take place digitally for the first time ever through #VoiceForThePlanet. Tune in digitally throughout the day on 28 March to #Connect2Earth and raise your #VoiceForThePlanet while meeting like-minded change-agents online.
Simple acts at the individual level, as insignificant as they may seem, can make a difference. It’s time we recognized our individual roles in creating solutions to the planet’s most pressing environmental challenges. This year, let us join millions of supporters globally and lend our voice to drive change and shape history by raising our Voice for the Planet. This is our time to secure a healthy, sustainable and fairer future for all.
Nepal, Raise Your Voice for the Planet Now!
