Jennifer Headley Memorial Scholarships for Girls
Jennifer was the WWF-UK's Coordinator for Himalayas/South Asia program. Jennifer joined WWF-UK in August 2003. Prior to joining, Jennifer worked in Nepal for two years, one of which was with WWF-Nepal supporting species conservation. She was based in Nepal and her work was focused on community based conservation in the Eastern Himalayas. This involved working with local communities and community groups to enhance the sustainable management of natural resources on issues ranging from species conservation and supporting community forestry, plantations and natural forest regeneration, to tacking the effects of climate change on the local environment.
Jennifer was an important part of WWF Nepal family where she lent her expertise and supported important initiatives in the region.
In honor of Jennifer Headley and her life-long commitment to conservation, WWF has established a Memorial Scholarship Fund that will provide financial assistance to female students from Nepal who are currently employed in or intend to pursue careers in nature conservation. Recognizing the tremendous loss of leadership with Jennifer’s untimely and tragic death, through this fund WWF will help build a new generation of conservation leaders to take on the many challenges facing Nepal in preserving its rich natural heritage.
Jennifer Headley Memorial Scholarship has been awarded to following promising female students to pursue careers in conservation, who showed their extraordinary potentials and interest in this field.
