Annual Report 2024

Posted on January, 01 2025

Over the past 31 years, WWF Nepal has navigated both celebrations and challenges, and this year has been
no exception. We have continued to push forward with unwavering commitment to our mission: protecting the environment, preserving biodiversity, and ensuring a sustainable future for all.

One of the most significant milestones of the year was the recognition of the Terai Arc Landscape as a UN World Restoration Flagships. This year also saw the launch of the Buddhist Faith Plan for the Environment.
In line with our commitment to ensuring the long-term survival of endangered species, we successfully translocated species such as rhinos and gharials to new areas. We also made significant strides in advancing wildlife science, with technological innovations that have enhanced our ability to monitor and protect wildlife more effectively. One of our key achievements this year was the completion of a comprehensive population study of the elusive snow leopard in the challenging landscapes outside of protected areas in Dolpa.

As we look to the future, we remain mindful of the challenges ahead. Increasing climate change risks, water pollution, short sighted infrastructure development, and growing human-wildlife conflict demand our immediate attention. Together, across generations, we will continue to safeguard our planet's biodiversity and ensure a sustainable future for all.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
