EARTH HOUR NEPAL

ABOUT EARTH HOUR

Earth Hour is a global environmental movement aimed at inspiring and empowering individuals, businesses, civil society organizations and governments to take tangible actions for the planet.

Since its first event in 2011, Earth Hour Nepal has consistently focused on generating awareness and encouraging pro-environment values and acts for lasting impact.

Over the last decade, Earth Hour Nepal has scaled up from small scale plantation programs and clean up initiatives to mass transformational events promoting renewable energy and sustainable lifestyles. Earth Hour Nepal went digital for the first time in 2020 in light of the public safety concerns due to the COVID-19 pandemic and has continued the trajectory in 2021.

WWF Nepal celebrated Earth Hour Nepal 2025 across its working landscapes  through a series of impactful environmental initiatives. The highlight of the movement was the exciting Earth Hour Event in the vicinity of Chitwan National Park in Bharatpur, featuring renowned and emerging Nepali artists, bringing together music, culture, and sustainability.

The event featured a lineup of talented local artists, including Sameera Sunar & Sandesh Bishwokarma, Razan Thapaliya, Subarna Poudel, and Shiva Kandel. The grand performance of the night was delivered by the beloved Trishna Gurung and the Collab Band, setting the stage for an electrifying night dedicated to climate awareness and action.

Earth Hour 2025 extended beyond Bharatpur, mobilizing communities across Nepal to take part in various conservation efforts leading up to the main event, engaging almost 600 volunteers to clean up the Narayani and Karnali rivers.
